Medicare Supplement Coverage
Medicare Supplement Insurance helps fill “gaps” in Original Medicare and is sold by private companies. Original Medicare pays for much, but not all, of the cost for covered health care services and supplies. A Medicare Supplement Insurance policy can help pay some of the remaining health care costs, like:
- Copayments
- Coinsurance
- Deductibles
What is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage = Medicare Part C. These plans are provided by private insurance companies and include coverage for everything Original Medicare covers. Many plans also include extra benefits, such as:
- Dental coverage
- Vision coverage
- Hearing coverage
- Fitness club membership
- Prescription drug coverage
What you need to know (Part C)
- Annual out-of-pocket maximum
- Can include prescription coverage
- Often covers dental, vision, hearing and other benefits, such as fitness programs
- Coverage provided through a private insurance company
- Usually comes with a network of doctors and hospitals
